Ace Recycling Method 9 Testing

Method 9- Emission Testing for Ace Recycling

Lion Point performed Method 9 visual emissions testing in accordance with United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA’s) 40 CFR Part 60 - Appendix A for Ace Recycling Resources, in Miramar, Florida. The facility is subject to 40 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) § 60 Subpart OOOO – Standards of Performance for Nonmetallic Mineral Processing Plants, which requires annual VE testing on its emission sources.

USEPA’s Method 9 test is performed by having an observer stand at a distance sufficient to allow for a clear view of emissions with the sun oriented at 140 degrees to the observer’s back. The observer’s line of vision should be perpendicular to the plume direction. Observations are then recorded at 15-second intervals to the nearest 5 percent opacity with the observer looking away after each interval has been recorded.
