Brownfield grants are typically provided on annual basis and allocated for cleanup/remediation. These grants provide much needed communities with funds to assess and redevelop parcel(s) in order to revitalize areas. NIH Grants
The NIH routinely provides grant opportunities for assessment and addressing community exposures to environmental impacts. Communities may be exposed to a wide range of environmental factors through air, water, or soil. Unfortunately those impacts often go unassessed until significant lasting damage has occurred.
For the year 2022-2023, the US EPA has authorized approximately $40 million for environmental justice grants nationwide. One of my main goals in starting my own company was to partner with local communities to study/investigate environmental impacts that are often overlooked. Because of the latency period of environmental exposures, it can sometimes take decades for an issue to be identified/rectified. I am actively seeking to partner with local non-profit organizations, redevelopment agencies, and other interested parties to identify available grants and loans to support underserved communities.
